The whole area of the actual slopes in Ouyoune El-Simane, is located in Kfardebian village which includes the best equipped and most popular resort of Lebanon, the Mzaar resort.
The resort has 42 slopes and 80 kilometers of ski tracks. The skiing season in Lebanon is similar in length to that of the Alps stretching over a period of 4 months. Skiers, snowboarders, snowmobile addicts, cross-country lovers and paragliders come to the resort from all parts of the country. Starting at 1850m, you may reach the 2465m top of Mzaar and enjoy the breathtaking view over the colorful Bekaa valley, Mount Hermon of the Anti-Lebanon and other peaks like Laqlouq and the Cedars. Coastal towns and even Beirut the capital might be seen on a clear day. Those who want a break from skiing might visit the stunning 30 meter natural bridge of Kfardebian formed by wind and water erosion, and also ruins of a Phoenician temple and a Roman tower.

At Mzaar-Kfardebian, now known as Mzaar, if you are an advanced skier, you will need at least two days to ski the best of the resort and start searching for new tracks. An option here, if looking for a more challenging day, is to hire a guide from the ski school to show you other exciting areas. Intermediates will have a lot of fun as well, and it is also an ideal resort for beginners as the lower slopes are wide and gentle.

This is a great resort for nature lovers and an ideal get-away destination. The Cedars are the ancient trees forming a forest in the heart of the village and a cedar tree is also found on the Lebanese flag. The Cedars resort is located in the North of Lebanon. Skiers came to the resort as early as 1920, and have been returning there ever since. The first lift was installed by the government in 1953.
Since located at high altitude (2000m), the Cedars resort has a slightly longer season than the others, sometimes beginning early November and often lasting until late April. The Cedars is very different. The resort is beautiful and the lifts are in a huge basin. Several chairlifts could take you to the very top of the mountain for off-piste skiing or down-hill thrills. For beginners, the Cedars is paradise, offering several snow-wire lifts on gently slopes. An alternative suggestion is to practice cross-country skiing which is unmatched at the Cedars, mainly because of the charming surroundings and nature. Skidoo trips are also a common practice at the resort."

Laqlouq is a winter and summer resort, situated on a plateau at an altitude between 1750m and 2000m, and encircled by jagged ridges and terraces bearing thousands of trees. In addition to alpine skiing, it is also one of the best resorts suited for cross country skiing. Mostly visited by families, Laqlouq had its first ski lift installed in 1958, followed by major enhancements to the slopes and the creation of a very qualified ski school. Unlike other resorts, the area surrounding the slopes is nearly free of buildings and construction.

Places of interest in the vicinity is the legendary cave of Afqa, 15 minutes drive from the resort, and the abyss at Balou', one of the most remarkable of Lebanon's beauty spots with natural arches and a waterfall. Other sites like the 2300m high Kornet Saidat Al-Qarn peak and the village of Annaya which witnesses pilgrims coming to visit the Monastery of Saint Charbel, the museum and the hermitage. This resort mainly differs from the others by this continuous enchantment felt throughout your stay.

The Qanat Bakish ski resort is known for the quality of its snow and the fact that it is one of the least crowded ski resorts in the area. The first ski lift was built in 1967 and the resort has been continuously improving its facilities and slopes to accommodate skiers of all ability levels till the end of the 90s, when the station stopped. A new road that ties the town of Faqra to Qanat Bakish makes the resort more accessible and more convenient for visitors.

However a new project is being planned at the resort and the only operational ski lift is the one next to the Snowland hotel.

The old village of Qanat Bakish is one of the best preserved old Lebanese towns, keeping most of its original architecture and green spaces, a hidden treasure worth discovering.
